Anita's Diary! June 13, 15 & 19

June 13:
The whole compound has now become a SIM interrogation center, which is what Tio Pepe has heard from the radio. Now that Tio Pepe knew all about the SIM, he decided to evacuate Anita's family from the compound. And Chucha seems to have a job at Wimpy's (the store that Chucha was afraid to go even near it).

June 15:
It seems that Anita can't even go outside because of the situation of the SIM, as she sees the 3 little Marias enjoying outside, while Anita has lost all her positive thinking, which made Anita feel bad. Tia Mari is now supporting Anita, explaining to her how her mother is under pressure and tells her to pray to La Virgencita.

June 19:
Anita receives a book about the life of the Virgin Mary from Tia Mary, but didn't seem to interest her much, so instead, she decides to try different hairdos, thinking of Oscar, and what he would say about Anita and her new ponytail.

Chapter 17..

The day of the funeral everyone was talking about the boys. Many children at the funeral began to remember the day when Tom and Joe had predicted that something bad would happen, while Becky was very sad because she had nothing that reminded her of Tom. She also realized that she had rejected Tom and regrets it. The next morning, everyone in town came to church, and as the minister began speaking, the three boys entered the church. Everyone was very happy, and began to hug Tom and Joe. But no one was happy to see Huck, so Tom told Aunt Polly to hug Huck, and so she did. Tom's outcome was that he was proud of being in church because he had a great time. "Tom got more cuffs and kisses that day-according to Aunt Polly's varying moods-than he had earned before in a year; and he hardly knew which expressed the most gratefulness to God and affection for himself" The last line of the chapter (which is the one above) to me means that Tom had received more cuffs and kisses than any other day of the year, and that he didn't know which showed more gratefulness to God, ether the cuffs or the kisses.

Tom Sawyer Ch.12

In chapter 12, Tom Sawyer gets "sick". While Tom went to school, Becky didn't. This began to affect Tom. After many days without Becky at school, Tom gets "sick" and is given some treatment by Aunt Polly. It is called Pain-Killer. Tom feeds it to the cat, he reacts with extreme hyperactivity, and Aunt Polly discovers what Tom did. She sent Tom to school, and there was Becky, but she totally spurns Tom. I think this was more of a psycologycal thing because all Tom was feeling was depression because Becky haddn't been attending school lately.

My Embarasing Story!

One day I was at the Club Arabe with Juliana and her little sister during summer. We decided to eat sushi. We ate, and after that we went to take a walk around the Club. I was messing around with my cell phone. I was throwing it, and catching it. But after 4 times, I got closer to the edge of the stairs. When I therw it once more, I cought it, but I fell and landed on my back. Everyone that was playing tennis stared at me and were laughing quietly, but i knew they were laughing at me! And Juliana and Alejandra (Juliana's little sister) were laughing SO hard at me, they almost peed! I felt SO embarassed.

Tom Sawyer...

I am reading the book Tom Sawyer, and I do know Tom's personality. He is not a very obedient boy, and after the loss of his mother he probably became more irrisponsable. Tom ignores his Aunt Polly and doesn't like to work. If I knew Tom, I would be his friend because I would love to help Tom become the opposite of what he is now, and if he grows up to be a lazy man who doesn't like to work, he will not succeed in life. So I woluld like to be his friend so that I help him change his personality.
